Agusto & Co. hereby affirms the ‘A-(IM)’ rating assigned to Afrinvest Asset Management Limited (‘AAML’ or ‘Afrinvest AML’ or ‘the Manager’). The rating reflects the Manager’s good research capabilities, experienced leadership team, well composed decision-making committees and support from an established financial services group. However, the rating is constrained by the very lean risk management team and the limited segregation of duties in the compliance, internal control & audit teams. We have also taken into consideration the limited automation of pre-trade checks on the effective management of AAML’s portfolios.
