Agusto & Co. assigns an “A+” rating to NEM Insurance Plc and attaches a stable outlook.

 The rating expires on 30 June 2024.

Agusto & Co. hereby assigns an ‘A+’ rating to NEM Insurance Plc (“NEM Insurance” or “the Company” or “the Insurer”) reflecting its status as Nigeria’s second-largest non-life insurer by gross premium income, the experienced management team, good liquidity profile and profitability, good solvency ratio and adequate capitalisation. However, offsetting these positive rating factors is the suppressed yield from its investment portfolio as well as rising operating and underwriting costs. The impact of the prevailing macroeconomic headwinds on the performance of the insurance industry in Nigeria also moderates the rating.
